The Knowledge Education Development Operational Programme came to a close

More than EUR 4.1 billion – this is the total amount claimed and accounted for by beneficiaries under the Knowledge Education Development Operational Programme (KED OP) as at the end of last year.

According to a report issued by the Ministry of Development Funds and Regional Policy, as at the end of 2022, the number of agreements under the KED OP reached 7,539, totalling EUR 5.6 billion – 101% of the allocated funds. The majority of the agreements (approx. 3,400) involved Priority Axis I (Inclusive Labour Market) and Axis III (Higher Education for the Economy and Development) – approx. 1,900. 

In almost all Axes, the agreements signed accounted for more than 90% of the allocated funds, with Axis I at the top end of the range (106%) and Axis VII (REACT-EU Health-Related Support) at the bottom (88.1%). 

As at the end of last year, beneficiaries had claimed and accounted for a total of EUR 4.1 billion – 74.3% of the OP's allocated funding, 44% of which was allocated under Axis I. By the end of 2022, a total of 2.6 million persons (59.6% of whom were women) received support, including 39% under Axis I. The majority of support recipients – approx. 978,400 (38.1%) – were employed, followed by economically inactive (approx. 796,000) and unemployed (approx. 791,700) – 31% each. 
Almost a third of unemployed support recipients were long-term unemployed. Overall, 88.5% of unemployed and 96.6% of long-term unemployed received support under Axis I projects. 

By the end of 2022, a total of approx. 214,200 individuals and approx. 39,000 businesses benefited from measures counteracting the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic.
